Series: Death Trilogy #2
Published by Dragonfairy Press on December 12, 2013
All of Samantha Bevan’s memories have been returned to her. But instead of bringing her peace, they’ve only brought her more turmoil. She now recalls the dark addiction to feeling other people’s deaths and every day is a struggle to control her urges. At least she has Austin to help her… or does she?
Samantha will discover that even with her memories, she doesn’t know the truth of her past, and those secrets may prove detrimental to her and everyone she loves. Will she be able to unravel the mystery of who’s been pulling her strings before it’s too late? Or will Austin be the one to suffer from her mistakes?
Embracing Death is what you read when you’re looking for something different. It’s not your standard, cookie-cutter erotica, romance or even mystery. You really do need to read Feeling Death first, since there isn’t a lot of flashback to the first book, but I definitely enjoyed this one more. Check out my review for Feeling Death HERE.
What made this sequel better than the first were a couple small differences. First, where the first book had a lot of flashbacks, often repeating verbatim scenes that I had just read, this book cut those way back. TONS of new material! Another difference was that while there was still a ton of sexy, there was also a lot more action. The whole story line felt tighter, more concrete. And it kept me on edge! You can’t possibly predict what’s going to happen!
I will warn you: this book is not for the faint of heart, or weak of stomach. It is essentially a woman who gets turned on by death, the slower, more tortured, the better. There are more than a few gruesome deaths, and lot and LOTS of detailed sex. 18+!!!!
I can’t say much more without giving away major plot points. This is the biggest issue with reviewing a sequel. I will say, though, that if you read the first book and you were on the fence? KEEP GOING! The series only gets better from here! The mystery is slowly unfurling, leading me on. Can’t wait for the next one!! 😀
Cynical-Optimist. Chocolate-holic. Sarcasm Addict. Paranormal Believer. Self-Imposed Insomniac. Sci-Fi Geek. Animal Lover. Writer…are just a few words to describe D.T. Dyllin. She was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and now lives in Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and two very spoiled GSDs.
