Like Mermaids? Coming this summer, The Falling in Deep Collection
Who hasn’t seen the Little Mermaid a million times? Don’t answer that. I don’t need anymore proof that I might have been a little too obsessed with that movie when I was a kid.
The image of the mermaid pervades our culture. From the mermaid on our Starbucks coffee (who, by the way, is twin-tailed. As such, her position on the logo is rather obscene) to teen movies and TV shows, to Harry Potter, mermaids are everywhere. In fact, if you watch Animal Planet, they might even be real! What is it about these creatures of the deep we find so enchanting? Sure, they can be lovely like Ariel, but shapeshifting sirens, rusalkas, and nix can be very dangerous. Mermaids represent dangerous beauty. And they are fun as hell to write about, that’s why 15 authors have decided to put together a unique collection of mermaid tales.
From mermaids to sirens, Miami to Athens, dark paranormal romance to contemporary stories with steam, the fifteen award-winning and best-selling authors of the Falling in Deep collection are bringing you mermaid tales like you’ve never seen before. Every week beginning June 1st, 2015, we’ll be releasing one unique, never-before-published novella! Each novella will feature our favorite creature of the deep: mermaids.

A mermaid princess destined to wed a handsome prince . . .
It sounds like a fairy tale, but the reality is far murkier.
When Ink, eighteen-year-old Princess of the Floridian Atlantic Mermaid Tribe, sets out to spend her customary year as a castaway in mer-populated Miami, exiled from her home beneath the waves, it seems like a perfect dream. Manx, her fiancé and Prince of the Gulf Tribe, is charming, handsome, and lovingly protective of Ink, and the Miami nightlife initially seems to be everything she imagined.
But darkness swirls inside Manx, and the decadent and deadly mer-life on land holds dangers Ink never expected. Manx’s possessive love soon takes a dangerous turn, sending Ink on the run and turning her dream into a nightmare.
Fleeing to run-down Cocoa Beach, Ink begs shelter from an ancient enemy of the mer-people.
And the only hope of surviving the crashing force swelling around her is to tap into a power deep inside Ink—a power that might destroy them all.

Her kiss might save the world . . .Unless his kiss kills her first.
It’s been almost two thousand years since the mer-shifter Skyla walked the streets of Athens—not since her heart was broken by a human man and she exchanged the land and sky for the ocean depths. Ever since, she has lived in the underwater ruins of Atlantis, studying with the priestesses of the goddess Amphitrite, refining her mermaid powers and ignoring her human half.
But her studies are interrupted when she is called upon by Poseidon himself to investigate rumors that the world above is being polluted by the magic of creatures from another realm—and worse, that the ocean kingdom of the mer-people might be next.
When her inquiries in modern-day Greece lead her to an American detective asking similar questions, Skyla realizes that the magical problem she’s been sent to research is bigger than she anticipated—and that one human’s kisses might be more dangerous to her, and her world, than she ever could have imagined.

Yet when she returns to the sea to seek out Finn and reverse her transformation, she finds herself in the middle of an impending war between the land and sea. Tara may have always wanted to be a mermaid, but now it’s sink or swim. In order to survive, she has to learn how to be one, too.
