The Appearance of Armando DeLeon
In Darkness We Must Abide #3
by Rhiannon Frater
A mysterious new vampire appears in the life of the Socolis. Is he friend or foe?
In Darkness We Must Abide is the epic saga of one young woman caught in the dangerous world of the creatures of the night.
Already living in the shadows due to her albinism, Vanora is just a little girl when her older brother inadvertently unleashes a terrible evil from the family crypt that changes their lives forever.
As she grows up in a world where beautiful deadly beings hunt by night, one captures her eye and her heart. Yet, can she trust the mysterious Armando? For there is a powerful entity plotting to claim her when she reaches adulthood in order to fulfill an ancient prophecy, and her enemy has enveloped her in a web of deceit, casting doubt on all she believes to be true. Soon, she will have to fight not only to save those she loves, but also for her very soul.
Synopsis from Goodreads
This is going to be review and read along, all wrapped up into one. My thoughts on the book are so wrapped up in how I feel about Armando, that it would be redundant to write it all twice.
Frater’s writing is, of course, of an outstanding caliber. Is there ever any doubt? She is leading us along through this story, one episode at a time, teasing us with little tidbits of knowledge. This episode takes an interesting turn of events, that I didn’t see coming. I have absolutely zero clue on how it will all work out, but I can only imagine that it won’t all be sunshine and roses.
Oh, Armando. You sexy, dreamy, steamy man. Or… Vampire. He steps into Vanora’s life, and just seems to fit. And, of course, we all have our own visual, but I just wanted to take this opportunity to share my own man candy with you guys.
This is my Armando. Also known as Alex Gonzalez.
Ahem. What were we talking about? Ah yes. Armando’s role in Vanora’s life is still a mystery, and his intentions are sketchy. Good guy? Villain? Only time will tell. Although, we are all but told that he is working for somebody bigger, stronger; an older vampire perhaps?
Speculate all you want. Rhiannon Frater will reveal all in time. Too much time, if you ask me. Can’t I have the whole story now? I’ll wait, but I didn’t say I would be patient!
