Vanora has suffered yet another loss. The darkness that haunts her premonition dreams draws ever nearer, but she is unwilling to let it consume her without a fight. As she seeks to uncover the truth about the mysterious albino vampire and her purpose in his schemes, she must rely on herself and those she trusts most to stand against the coming purge.
As we are approaching the end of the second season, I am starting to feel the strain. It’s in the details; the way they’re speaking to each other, the way they take risks knowing that their time is short, and of course, because of all the death. This episode actually started off quite slowly, and after the way #8 left off, I was expecting more panic, more bloodshed. Strangely enough, everyone was very levelheaded, all things considered.
The first half of the book centered around the loss of a major character and how it affected them all. Spirits were crushed, hope was beginning to dwindle. But as the group began to rally, I saw a whole new side to them. They worked well as a group, supporting and protecting each other.
The last quarter of the book was FANF@$KINGTASTIC!! We are introduced to an Incubus who I immediately fell in love with, sarcasm, sass and all. It’s easy to see why the ladies can’t seem to keep their hands off him! Oh, and did I forget to mention that he looks like this?
Rhiannon Frater has reinvented the meaning of the word “cliffhanger”. I was reading along, grooving with the story until ACK! CRAP! WTF?! NOOOOOOO!!! Do you realize how much it sucks to have to wait for the next episode? Especially knowing that it’s the season finale! I just know that Frater has some surprises up her sleeve, and it gets my heart pounding just thinking about it! BRING IT ON!
