Going to jail sucks, but being in jail when an outbreak hits sucks even more. Follow Rudy Hawthorne as he bails out into the dead only to find out there are worse things than zombies. This is a novella and companion to The Famished Trilogy.

Hello dear readers, today we have a special guest. Zombie Derek (#zombiederek). Zombie Derek reads almost anything. It’s awesome to have a friend like him with so many similar tastes. So anyway, ZD just finished Bailing out into the Dead by Annie Walls, and I thought I would interview him about the story.

Lori: Have you read Taking on the Dead?

Zombie Derek: Of course I have. What do I look like a fleshy. We zombies like to keep up on all the pop culture myths and stories about ourselves. That being said, I think that one with only the slightest amount of brrrrraaaaaaaaaaiinnnnnnnnnns…………..

Lori: Derek, you uhh look like you want to eat me. Snap out of it buddy. You’re better than your nature. Remember the steps pal.

Zombie Derek: Yes, yes of course. Anyway, anyone who is intelligent, with big juicy brains, so tasty, could follow this book.

Lori: Great now on to the actual story what did you think about it?

Zombie Derek: It was great. It gave us another glimpse at the world that Walls created. It’s fun to see my people being able to grow and adapt, even if we are you know decomposing. Also, I liked getting to see inside of Rudy’s head…Not literally, but I would love to see that guys brains.
Also, seeing his dynamic with Mac grow is great.

Lori: Right, the cat. I loved reading about the cat. And Mac!

Zombie Derek: The cat. I do love me some feline, chased by a nice brain. And Dexter sounded delicious. Mac, Mac, Mac. I could eat him, and I don’t even play on that team.

Lori: Umm, okay. Anything else you want to add Derek?

Zombie Derek: Don’t blow by this story just because it’s short and a prequel. I think it gives the reader a lot of insight, and sets up the next book nicely. Annie Walls is a great author, and has lovely brains.
