Katie and Jenni have found new lives with the survivors of their makeshift fort, but danger still lurks. Nothing is easy in the new world where the dead walk and every day is a struggle to keep safe. As the elements, bandits, and the zombie horde threaten their safe haven, Jenni and Katie join the other survivors in fighting to survive as the world dies.
My Frater Month continues! The hardest part about reading a series is reviewing the sequels without giving away any major plot points. Even the synopsis is short! I’ll try my best to be vague and mysterious…
As far as middle books go, this one was STELLAR! It stands alone with its own plot, while continuing on with the zombocalypse. The cast of characters is getting broader, but don’t get too attached to any of them… *hint hint* More survivors begin to trickle into the fort, but the zombies are still out there, and maybe even something more sinister.
Along the way, I kept finding myself thinking, “What next?” It was entirely unpredictable, but more than that, it was full. The plot line never thinned in places, it was never weak. Rhiannon kept the plot moving at every opportunity, adding a richness rarely found in zombie tales. She doesn’t rely on gore to entertain the readers, but she isn’t stingy with it either.
In short, read the series. It’s a must-read for all horror fans! Stay tuned for my review of Siege.
