Exclusive Excerpt #2:
I saw everything with new eyes and wanted to go back and view the accident site with a new understanding. I started the car but before I put it in reverse, Luc climbed in the passenger seat. He didn’t say anything, just buckled his seat belt and looked at me. “Luc, what…?” I started to ask. He flashed me a sad version of the smirk that had given me butterflies so many times before. “I know where you’re going, and I’m going with you.” “You do?” How could he? I’d only figured it out a minute ago. Oh right, divine being. “Yup, let’s find out what happened to your friends’ angels — and yours.” He faced forward, waiting for me to drive. I nodded and put it in gear. The old me had flashes of panic… I was skipping school again, my parents didn’t know, I should tell someone, but the new me with the perspective of everything going on and how it all really worked had taken over. There was gas in the tank, a cell phone charger in the car, an angel sitting next to me, what did I have to lose? Other than notes in LA3 and the respect of Mr. Potter.
