waiting on wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine. It spotlights books that we cannot wait for!

Lori’s Pick:

Title: Rellik
Author: Teresa Mummert
Release Date: October 28th, 2014

Blurb: Rellik Bentley is to die for. He can have any woman he wants and they will do anything to be with him. He uses and abuses them like drugs and tosses them out with the trash. The only thing he gives a f*ck about is his music. That is, until Ella Lighten walks into his life and stumbles upon one of his darkest secrets. In the midst of doing damage control, he begins to obsess over the mysterious woman who wants absolutely nothing to do with him. Rellik won’t take no for an answer.

Why am I waiting on this? Because it’s a rock star romance with a twist. And it’s Teresa Mummert, her books never fail to keep me entertained.

Lindsay’s pick:

ugly loveUgly Love
by Colleen Hoover
Expected publication: August 5th, 2014
Goodreads | Amazon

When Tate Collins meets airline pilot Miles Archer, she doesn’t think it’s love at first sight. They wouldn’t even go so far as to consider themselves friends. The only thing Tate and Miles have in common is an undeniable mutual attraction. Once their desires are out in the open, they realize they have the perfect set-up. He doesn’t want love, she doesn’t have time for love, so that just leaves the sex. Their arrangement could be surprisingly seamless, as long as Tate can stick to the only two rules Miles has for her.

Never ask about the past.
Don’t expect a future.

They think they can handle it, but realize almost immediately they can’t handle it at all.

Hearts get infiltrated.
Promises get broken.
Rules get shattered.
Love gets ugly.

I chose this book because everything Colleen writes is gold. I don’t need to read the synopsis. I don’t even need to look at the cover. Just gimme.

Elyse’s Pick:

Kiss Me Hard Before You Go
Shannon McCrimmon
Publication date: May 14, 2014
Goodreads | Amazon

Every summer, Gray Barnes and his eighteen-year-old daughter, Evie, open up their farm in the foothills of South Carolina to Kip Kierkin’s Carnival of Wonder. The carnival attracts hordes of locals and out-of-towners, and it brings in the extra cash that Gray and his daughter need to keep the family estate running.

Evie decided long ago that she wants nothing to do with the carnival or the farm that her dad so desperately works to keep afloat. She doesn’t understand her father’s appreciation for the land or the work that it takes to maintain it, but that’s all about to change when she meets Finch Mills.

Finch is a lifer – a carny since birth. He’s spent all of his twenty-two years on the circuit and longs for a different path. He’s never paid much attention to Evie, not until this eventful summer of 1978.

I have always had a proclivity for stories about carnivals, or the circus. The time frame, and the setting just have this perfect tone for me. And plus LOOK AT THAT COVER! *swoon* I’m so excited to read this.
